Well, not so fast. A little bit of controversy was stirred up when a person impersonating a Miami Herald sports reporter left a comment on an article on Miamiherald.com saying that Jason Taylor was coming home to Miami after signing a 1 year deal. Welllll as I mentioned it was an impersonator and the Fins in fact have not even contacted JT yet.
Coming from a die hard Dolfan and a Miami native, naturally I was one of the people who got real excited about the idea of his return. Then I remembered the circus that surrounded him before he was traded.
Jason Taylor is a great football player but his heart has obviously been elsewhere since he signed on to be on “Dancing with the Stars” and the ridiculous thought entered his mind that he can be a Hollywood actor much like The Rock. As I mentioned, I am from Miami and I have had the privilege of meeting Jason and I can tell you (with all due respect) the man is no actor. He’s extremely monotone and if he tried to go after an acting career I think you will see a career more equivalent to Rick Fox than The Rock.
Anyway, back to Jason Taylor’s NFL career, according to mutiple reports, as many as 12 teams have contacted JT’s agent so far. My advise to all of these teams would be to stay in contact with this man and really feel him out before giving him millions. If his heart is not into it, in my mind, it is not worth it to a team to sign a guy past his prime who will miss training camp which more times than not results in an injury by the end of the season.
Advise to JT….I am a huge fan of yours but PLEASE, get over yourself. Either play the game as you always have or retire. NFL fans are tired of seeing premadonna athletes say they are too good to work out with the team. You worked your entire career to not be that so don’t ruin it now.
